Here's the perfect Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa gift for that gangsta-rap obsessed friend of yours who keeps insisting 2Pac is alive — another Tupac Shakur record.
New Wideawake/Death Row Records president John Payne — the Canadian company who bought Death Row in 2008 — recently told Vibe magazine that the tracks on the as-yet-untitled release were recorded during 2Pac's All Eyez On Me era. It's not known when it'll be out in stores.
"This is unreleased 2Pac... no remastering or remixing," he said. "I believe that these songs could have been 2Pac's next record if he were still alive."
2Pac's put out more material after his death than he did while living. He released five studio albums from 1991 until his September 1996 murder, and since then five other studio albums, greatest hits compilations, live records and rarities collections have been released.
Here's a rundown of 'Pac's career before and after his death.
