Beginning at 11am EST today, FUSE will unveil their "Tupac Takeover." The New York-based network will honor the iconic emcee, actor and humanitarian who has been dead almost 15 years.
The television lineup will begin with music video compilations such as The 2Pac Chronicles and Loaded: 2Pac. The afternoon will follow with 2004's Tupac Vs., which features commentary by Tupac's former manager Leila Steinberg and author/scholar Michael Eric Dyson. That will be followed by Tupac Shakur: Before I Wake, the film adaptation executive produced by Frank Alexander, Shakur's bodyguard in the last year of his life. The film pulls extensively from Alexander's book Got Your Back, and controversially makes allegations about the lack of security and likely motives in Tupac's murder.
The programming will conclude Ernest R. Dickerson's 1992 film Juice. The movie features Tupac playing the role of "Bishop," the brazen villain. The film, in addition to its Hip Hop soundtrack, features cameo appearances from EPMD, Queen Latifah, Treach, Special Ed and Ed Lover.
